Lowering the Cost of Access to Space

General Kinetics believes that it is possible to lower the cost of access to space. The company was formed with the express purpose to develop technology and products which are inherently enabling for access to space.  

Our philosophy is that routine access to space will occur when the technology of operations begins to approximate other mass transportation systems, such as aircraft operations.  

Our technology and products have been developed with the belief that the unique features of hydrogen peroxide based power and propulsion systems can provide enhanced operational features which are not as easily realized with other chemicals.

Evolution Not Revolution

Many ideas for lowering the cost of access to space involve revolutionary concepts and we do not discourage these ideas. Revolutionary ideas are inherently high risk and are best suited to be undertaken by government entities are large investors who can tolerate risk.  Our business model is to take our core and technically mature technology and progressively improve the technology to then systematically lower cost.  As an example, we have reduced the size of one of our core products by roughly a factor of 5 with an associated reduction in cost.  In the business of rocket engines, it is not common to see a five fold reduction in cost.
